The story of Galleri Nijenkamp

On March 30th, 2013, Galleri Nijenkamp opened its doors for the first time in the exclusive location at Kratholmvej 62C in Odense S. 

The opening opening was with the Danish artist Jacob Herskind, followed by two more major solo exhibitions by Danish artists. - Sussi Trampedach and Nille Bech.

At the same time, the gallery opened the concept "Arthotel", where paintings could check in, instead of people.
And then our art expert, Kenneth Nowak, opened a high-end art trade in the same building.

The stage was set for an art house, with new works by Danish and foreign modern artists, as well as the opportunity to see art in the absolute world class in the art trade.

 

 

 

In 2014, there was a serious focus on Galleri Nijenkamp in the Danish art industry.
The gallery opened in January with Denmark's largest sales exhibition of Cobra art for sale from private art collectors.
54 works by 11 different Cobra artists were exhibited, and the gallery's 1000 sqm was filled throughout the exhibition period with art lovers from near and far.

2014 was also the year with a total of 7 major exhibitions, where the year ended with a bang of an opening at what was also Denmark's largest sales exhibition of Michael Kvium's works for sale from private art collectors.

In 2014, the gallery was offered the honour and to present a work of art to the winner of the Hans Christian Andersen Literature Prize, Salman Rushdie.

 

 

 

 

In 2015, the focus was on unique installation art, with the media unique lamps from the Danish renowned lamp designer Tom Rossau.
Photoart by international award-winning photographer, Ken Hermann, was also introduced.
These exhibitions were also featured in several international media.

2015 was also the year with a lot of events, both in the gallery and outside the gallery in a pop-up version.

 

 

 

 

2020 was the year when Galleri Nijenkamp swapped the location from Odense S for Odense M, with now 350 sqm. gallery.
The solo exhibitions were by the artists Jan Esmann, Artpusher, Birgitte Christens, Camilla West, Sussi Trampedach and Dante Galic.

The gallery also turned 10 years old in 2023, and it was of course celebrated with a bang of a group exhibition.

 

 

 

2023 was the year of a collaboration with PlanBørnefonden, where the gallery exhibited the internationally renowned photographer Signe Vilstrup's photographs in collaboration with PlanBørnefonden.
Galleri Nijenkamp housed the exhibition.

2024 started out with Dante Galic being invited to South Africa and painting a work at an exclusive safari lodge.

 

 

 

 

In the summer of 2024, Galleri Nijenkamp changed its concept, and now has a greater focus on large pop-up exhibitions, whether solo exhibitions or group exhibitions with the gallery's artists.

In addition to pop-up exhibitions, the gallery has new premises in the middle of Odense C, where there are continuously works exhibited by the artists represented in the gallery.

The next big soloexbihition in a pop-up version in Otterup Rifle Factory with works by artist Dante Galic.

The exhibition was made in collaboration with Nordfyns Erhverv og Turisme and Otterup Rifle Factory.
